Private and Semi-Private Lessons

I've been asked numerous times if I would consider private lessons.  I've decided to offer private and semi-private lessons starting in January 2008.  Since I rent studio time, I regret that I am only able to offer private lessons on Saturday mornings or Sundays.  Please email Kali@Tribal-Desires.com to schedule a session.

Private lessons:  $30 per hour

Semi-Private Lessons:

Two students:  $25 each per hour

Three Students:  $22 each per hour

Four students:  $20 each per hour

Five or more:  $18 each per hour

Class Attire:

Beginner's Series/ Basic I & II:

  • Something loose fitting and comfortable—think dance or exercise wear.  Some good choices:  draw string pants, T-shirts, tank tops, leotards, pajama bottoms, loose elastic pants, excercise capris etc.

  • After many years of partnering with some of the best Physical Therapists while working with children/adults with Special Needs, I don't need to see your body to understand how you're moving, so wear what makes you feel comfortable.

  • Street clothing--jeans, shorts, etc--are NEVER acceptable for class.

  ~~~~~~
  • For your feet:  Bare feet are best, but you are welcome to wear ballet slippers, lyrical sandals or jazz shoes.  NO SOCKS--the risk of injury increases in your stocking feet.
  • Street shoes of any kind are NEVER acceptable, not only does the outside debris they pick up destroy the dance floor, the debris becomes a saftey hazard for those of us who dance in our bare feet.
 ~~~~~~

  • For your hips:  Bring a scarf/material to tie  around your hips.  Please refrain from bringing coin scarves--they are too distracting for class.

  ~~~~~~
  • Notebook encouraged (but not required) for Basic II dancers.
  • However, you will find that your dancing improves significantly as you have a better understanding of the dance itself--thus, the notebook in which to keep information.
Intermediate I & II/ Advanced dancers:
  • You are strongly encouraged to wear pantaloons to class, but dance or exercise clothing will also be accepted.  Skirts may also be worn but never without pantaloons or dance pants underneath.
  •  All of the rules for attire apply.
  • A notebook is REQUIRED.
